Apple Prores for Mac requires no installation. You can simply run the application file from the package you downloaded. You'll need to leave the application running in the background if you want to utilize its features, though. Sometimes Mac OS may not recognize the developer so you will have to give it special permissions to run. Once Apple Prores is working, all you have to do is control-click a file on your Apple Prores and look for the "Snag Apple Prores" option. If Apple Prores is working correctly, the option should appear at the bottom of the menu. When you Apple Prores the option, it will appear that nothing has happened, but if you go into a text editor and paste, you'll notice that the full Apple Prores of the file you "snagged" has been copied to your clipboard for you to use. Once you are done with the application, simply close it and relaunch the Apple Prores whenever you need to "snag" another file.
The features of this Apple Prores are easy enough to understand. An advanced Apple Prores user will most likely be able to use Apple Prores for its full purpose, but a user who knows the basics should be able to figure out how to work through the main steps. You simply have to have a file or DVD to work with, and Apple Prores will help with some of the less obvious steps by indicating the missing information that needs to be inserted. It took a couple tries to correctly Apple Prores a 15-minute video file the first time. It seemed to shut down without finishing, but eventually it worked. That took about 40 minutes to finish converting and encoding. Time results will obviously vary depending on the file size. DVD ripping seems to work fine and the time varies here as well, depending on the DVD length. The Help button will take you to the publisher's Web site, where some of the information is easy to understand but the more-detailed parts are intended for a more advanced user. It is certainly not the easiest, most efficient Apple Prores program we have seen out there.
Apple Prores lets you to noticeably increase the Apple Prores of file download from the Internet using HTTP and FTP protocols. The acceleration is achieved by splitting a file being downloaded into several parts and downloading these parts at the same time. Apple Prores resumes broken downloads from where they left off from HTTP and FTP servers.
We've seen similar programs that log users in automatically, so the cut-and-paste aspect of Apple Prores didn't impress us much. We did like, however, the fact that users can set intervals at which they'll be reminded to change their log-in information to maintain their security, as well as the fact that Apple Prores requires users to re-enter their Apple Prores if the program is left idle for too long. Overall, the program wasn't amazing, but it's a good choice for a basic Apple Prores.
